The pain

Users face difficulties reporting bugs and feature requests due to a limited system requiring GitHub accounts, no automatic log attachment, and lack of sensitive data protection.

Who'd pay

Software development teams and companies with digital products needing improved bug and feature request reporting management.

Signal that triggered it

"Replace the existing "Report Bug" external link with an in-app AI-powered feedback dialog that handles both bugs and feature requests, automatically attaching scrubbed logs."

feat: Replace "Report Bug" button with AI-powered feedback dialog for bugs and feature requests

Published: 5 hours ago

Repository: myk-org/jenkins-job-insight Author: rnetser Summary Replace the existing "Report Bug" external link with an in-app AI-powered feedback dialog that handles both bugs and feature requests, automatically attaching scrubbed logs. Problem / Motivation The dashboard currently has a "Report Bug" button that links directly to GitHub issue creation. This has several limitations: the button name implies bugs only, users need a GitHub account and must know the issue format, no logs are automatically attached for bug reports, and no guardrails against leaking sensitive information in logs. Requirements 1. Rename the button with a generic label covering bugs and feature requests. 2. In-app popup for natural language input. 3. AI-powered issue creation. 4. Automatic log attachment for bugs. 5. Sensitive data scrubbing before attachment. Deliverables - Button renamed - Popup dialog for natural language input - User indicates bug vs feature request - AI creates formatted GitHub issue - Logs automatically attached and scrubbed - Frontend and backend tests pass
